Removed ForumWP and reverted to bbpress… now all Particpants can’t view topics

We've had to remove ForumWP as it's just too buggy on our site.

We've gone back to bbpress, but now forum Participants can't access topics, it redirects them to /wp-login.

Is there a way to completely remove ForumWP so that the original bbPress capabilities are restored?
