Private Forums

In order to show private forums to users it appears that I have to grant them "manage_fmwp_forums_all". I do not want to provide this to all users who have private access. Granting read_private_fmwp_forums, read_private_fmwp_replies, read_private_fmwp_topics was not enough. Please advise!
