Anonymous participation in Forums

It would be great if our users could anonymously participate in forums or if specific forums or topics could have a setting to automatically make all replies anonymous. We want to maintain identities / user profile information in other areas of our site, so tying the anonymous feature specifically to forums would be ideal. It would allow our users to speak freely around sensitive topics.
